Why do we care? Because it’s summer and we need to know how hungover we’re going to be this weekend.
We also need to blame our hangovers on something other than ourselves.
A new study out of the University of Vermont suggests that people with blue eyes are more likely to have a high drinking tolerance which means they are more likely to become alcoholics.
Reporting in the American Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, the researchers found that those with light-colored eyes (green, gray, and brown in the center) have higher rates of alcohol dependency than those with dark brown eyes.
The link is strongest in blue-eyed people, though.
